Help identifying supplemental to AAU insurance coverage for players and coaches. Author: Jim Batcha Date: 10/17/1999
From Jim Batcha / Waterford Wave
I am seeking sources to purchase insurance to cover our club in tryouts and non AAU sanctioned events. If any club knows of any company that has reasonable coverage and rates please leave me the info.
Thanks for the help.

Anyone who trys out for your team should be an AAU member. They should fill our an AB card ($12) before they begin tryouts. You need to charge enough for your try outs to cover the cost of the card and the use of the facility. If all of the players fill our a card and pay the $12 - they become AAu members and as such are covered by insurance. You and your coaches should also fill out cards. Everyone would therefore be covered and you would be protected as well by the liability insurance.
The AB card (added benefits) covers you and your team even if you/they participate in non-sanctioned events (non AAU events as well)
The young ladies that are not selected to your team are still AAU members and would not need to fill our another card if they decided to try out for other AAU teams(assuming that the card and the money is sent to the AAU office)
Terry Dolan.
